By popular demand, Monday’s Radio Free Lunch will be “moon” songs to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Apollo 11’s historic moon landing.  There are SO many great songs to choose from so I can’t wait to hear your suggestions!!

the Untold Stories

Random

Sunday, July 19th, 2009

Can you believe the weather this weekend?!  Low humidity and temps in the 80’s in the middle of July? Weird, but I’m not complaining!  The best news is that it’s supposed to stay like this all week! Besides being excited about the great weather I have to rave about a fairly new restaurant called the Shed At Glenwood. We ate there Saturday night and it was delicious.  Terrific service too.

While I’m raving new stuff I want you to check out Drop Dead Diva on Lifetime.  It’s filmed here in Atlanta and is a really cute drama-comedy. If you loved Lipstick Jungle or Starter Wife, you’ll really enjoy this. Also, thank god for HBO on Sunday night as True Blood (it’s growing on me), Hung and Entourage are definitely appointment watching.

OK so it’s weird to blab out this, but I am so fired up for my birthday party this Friday night. Yacht Rock is playing and the station is planning some secret roast. Elizabeth and Lisa (my friend, co worker and organizer of the party) have been whispering behind my back for weeks about it and I’m completely in the dark.  Of course I love the attention and can’t wait to see what happens ;) . You can be there if you want as a few select listeners (blog readers) will be able to come to the soiree. If you can’t —you know I’ll be posting stuff here.  Oy!  40!!!

Weekend Happenings

Friday, July 17th, 2009

It’s that time again—if you’re looking for designer clothes at killer prices, check out the boutique bargain sale Friday and Saturday.  Also, shout out to my cousin Sam’s band “Bury Me A Lion”. They are really good and have a gig at the 529 club in East Atlanta Saturday night.

It’s got all kinds of bells, whistles and fanciness.  Plus, Hank Aaron will be doing a special ceremony at the Braves/Mets game tonight.  To celebrate this, Thursday’s Radio Free lunch will be songs tied into to the bottle.  Anything that comes in a bottle (Orange Crush, Water, Wine) or mention bottle (Message In A Bottle). Drink up!

We’re in the thick of summer so all the kids are home to bring us joy make us crazy.  Wednesday’s Radio Free Lunch will be fun for the whole family as I’ll play songs that your kids love.  Not to go all Kathie Lee on you—but Charlie loves all the music from the Curious George soundtrack (Jack Johnson) and the new Green Day (he rocks out to Know Your Enemy!).  What are your kids favorite songs?
