On Monday Dave-FM will celebrate the anniversary of one of the all time greatest albums.   Starting at noon, we’ll play Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band in it’s entirety.  Believe it or not, there is actually a good angle for the McDonald’s Daily Cheese. Do you remember Sgt Pepper’s, the movie? So many people are in it like The Bee Gees, Steve Martin, Aerosmith, Tina Turner and Bonnie Raitt (to name a few!).  You have to watch this hot mess of a trailer.  What a hilarious throwback to the 70’s! Peter Frampton has said that being in this ruined his career.  I can see that.

Friday’s Radio Free Lunch ties into the release of Pixar’s “Up”. It’s getting rave reviews and is predicted to be one of the biggest movies of the summer.  In honor of this, we’ll play songs with “up” in them.  ”Start Me Up”, “Get Up Stand Up” and “Tangled Up In Blue” are some of the early choices.  I can’t wait to see this movie!

Tonight is the Scripps National Spelling Bee.  In the past I’ve done songs that feature spelling (r-o-c-k in the u-s-a) but today I decided to change it up.  In honor of the BEE we’ll do songs about BEES.  Anything that mentions bees (Honey Bee, Tom Petty, Lucinda Williams), songs from Sting or songs about honey will work.  Bzzzzzzzzzz!

We’ll play bands from there (REM, B52’s, Widespread Panic), songs about school (My Old School) or the Dawgs (Hey Bulldog). Can’t wait to see your suggestions!  Go Dawgs!
