Vacation Days

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

I’m going to be off the air Thursday and Friday.  The amazing Margot will be filling in for the Radio Free Lunch and everything else.  It’s a “girls weekend” with my old pals so we’ll be causing trouble all over the city. We’ll also be at the Ben Harper Circle Of Friends Saturday (yay!).  I’ll keep blogging during my days off but it may be slower than usual.

Love It Live

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

Since there has been SO much great music in Atlanta this week Wednesday’s Radio Free Lunch will focus on your favorite live bands or artists.  Who does the best stage show in your opinion??

Last nights Fleetwood Mac show was great btw.  The sound started off a little muddy but it seemed to work itself out.  As much as I like seeing the whole band I think Lindsey and Stevie should do an acoustic thing next time around.  The highlights were definitely Sara (one of my all time favorite songs) and Gold Dust Woman.  Buckingham is a bad ass on the guitar.  Just awesome.

O-M-G!!  I am going backstage Wednesday to interview Dave!!  If you are a big fan, please feel free to submit some questions that you think I should ask him.  If I use your question, you will get the credit!  The interview will air on Dave-FM Wednesday evening before the show—and we will also post it here.  Whooo-hoooooo!!!

Co-Ed’s

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Since Fleetwood Mac is playing Phillips Arena tonight (I’m going!  Very excited) Tuesday’s Radio Free Lunch will be all co-ed bands.  Think B52’s, The Cranberries, The Pixies and Smashing Pumpkins.  Of course I’ll play Fleetwood Mac too.

Is Your House An Eye Sore?

Monday, April 27th, 2009

Check this out from HGTV:

HGTV’s new makeover show is looking for desperate homeowners and their homes that are willing to be on camera and have their (exterior home) makeover taped for a show–in return you will get a funded and spectacular makeover from their talented and professional team.

–> Homes: Should be the eye sore of the block. Maybe the house is painted
neon yellow, or the paint is peeling, the landscape is overgrown or dead,
the drive way is cracking, the shutters are missing, cant find the house
numbers, or over time, the house has lost its charm and has been stripped or
covered in layers of different architecture styles, AND they want to know why your house is in disrepair, great stories encouraged!

If this is you (or someone on your street) please submit your/their
information right away. All homeowners must be willing to participate.

–> Bonus: When the eye sore home is selected several other homes on the
street will get “mini” makeovers by our team.

Please submit the following:
1) Photo of the outside of home from street
2) Photo of just the house
3) photo of homeowners
4) name of homeowners
5) cell phone numbers
6) neighborhood & city you live in; including address
7) why your home is the eye sore of the block
8) nominate 2/3 other neighbors that need “Mini Makeovers” (change front
door, maybe mailbox, house numbers, light fixtures, etc) on the block, These
neighbors must be willing to participate. Please provide phone numbers.

Please send info to sberry@edelmanproductions.com as soon as possible. The deadline is Friday, May 1.

I Can Name That Song In……

Monday, April 27th, 2009

The inspiration for Monday’s Radio Free Lunch comes from last night’s Springsteen show.  I loved how the audience started cheering when they recognized a song in the first note. There are so many great hits that everyone knows within seconds of hearing it.  I’m thinking “Free Fallin”, “Should I Stay Or Should I Go” or “What Would You Say”.  What songs do you recognize in the first note?

Bruuuuuuce!

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

I’ve seen The Boss about a dozen times and he never disappoints.  The show at Phillips was 3 hours of pure ROCKING.  Highlights were definitely “She’s The One”, “Lonesome Day” and “Trapped”.  He also did a cover of ? And The Mysterians “96 Tears” which was a riot.  What did you think of the show?!

Weekend Stuff

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Atlanta is jamming with events!  We definitely plan on hitting the Inman Park Festival which is always tons of fun.  If you’re in that neighborhood go see my friend Jac at Jac Boutique.  They are having a huge sale for the festival weekend.  There’s also a few other cool shops in that area (and great restaurants too, Hello Fritti!).  I also want to give a shout out to the Kids for Kanines Charity Dog Walk.  It’s on Sunday from 2-4 at Newtown Park on Old Alabama Road in John’s Creek.

If you’re not going to see BRUUUCE on Sunday night, check out Dave-FM’s Acoustic Sunset.  Each week the line up changes and it’s a great way to cap off the weekend.  It’s totally family friendly too.  Got an event you want to mention? Post it here!
