Random Task Seen At Press Conference.

Ah yes, Austin Powers references are still funny.

So in case you missed some things over the weekend.  Miss Russia was crowed Miss World, Tim Tebow was denied his second Heisman (YES!) since Sam Bradford of Oklahoma won it and President Bush was greeted by two size 10 shoes at a press conference in Iraq.  The reporter, Muntazer al-Zaidi, shouted “this is a goodbye kiss from the Iraqi people, dog,” before he was gang tackled by security.

Iraqi Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki tried to deflect the second shoe, but Bush’s cat-like reflexes helped him to avoid being beaned in the head.  Bush is visiting Iraq for a last time before he hands over the controls to President-elect Barack Obama in just 37 days.

If you’re wondering why shoes, it is a sign of contempt against someone in the Middle East.  If you remember, the Iraqis beat the toppled statue of Saddam Hussein back in 2003 with their shoes.

Here’s the vid if you haven’t seen it.

Keep rocking Atlanta, life is good…and honestly…who throws a shoe?
